Big Kev: Hey! It ain't everyday I see one o' my own kind in here! Heheh, how may I help ya, sir?
"Normal" typhlosion customer: Y-Yeah... (Whoa, he really IS big... Wait, he's a... W-What?!)
A typhlosion patronized Big Kev's Bakery today, and this picture captures their interactions with each other. I wanted to show just how much heftier Big Kev (Early thirties) is compared to a "normal" member of his species. The average typhlosion is five feet, seven inches tall, and weighs approximately 180 lbs. Big Kev, however, blows both of these statistics out of the water - he towers over the rest of his kind at over six feet tall, and claims to weigh more than half a ton!
Mon are typically intimidated by Big Kev at first due to his size, but that initial feeling of unease must be even more heightened - and hilarious - when that smaller mon is of the same species! In a world populated by pokemon, I can only imagine how awkward it must be to encounter a mon of the same species as you, but more obese.
For this picture, I experimented with drawing a size view of Big Kev, a different style of drawing Kev's neck, a way to demonstrate how soft Kev's belly is, some shading practice, and creating a basic scene. Oh, and of course, drawing a "normal-looking" typhlosion of average weight and height to compare Big Kev's sheer massiveness to.
As big as Big Kev is, I feel like I understated both his height and weight in this picture, especially with the typhlosion on the right posing as a textbook example of the Volcano Pokemon. I do adore how Kev's enormous abdomen slightly squishes against the counter to show how soft it is.
For the neck, I used some pictures by SaintDraconis as a reference for how to draw a thick neck, because I adore how he does it; and I say I did a good job. I think it could have been gone better, but I am overall satisfied with the final product.
Also in today's news: local artist vents his frustration about drawing cash registers! AAARGH!!

Big Kev belongs to FatalCalamityz - me!

Well, I have always admired fatfur artists who can draw trim characters just as well as they can draw round characters, so I gave it a shot myself! It appeases me tremendously to see you leave such a positive comment, Tagam! Thank you!
Apparently, I can draw both fat and "normal-sized" typhlosion! Always a useful skill to have!
