Side by side comparison of the old mermaid painting from 2009(ish) to the new one. Maybe someday I will paint it again.

I don't have a lot to say about this one. I remember feeling really proud of myself when I did the original, and it was pretty good for my skills back them. Obvious problems I can see is the tail position doesn't work with the perspective of the body, making it look like its out to the side rather than flowing behind her. For years I've tried to redo this piece, but the pose always gave me trouble, and even the one I ended up finishing is not quite as energetic at the original, but I feel I got the anatomy far more solid than other attempts.
