My drawing teacher in school told me I need to work on how hard I shade with a pencil. That combined with a crud scanner makes this one real washed out. Sorry.

Does your drawing class provide pencils? I'd try to check out some 4B, or 6B pencils. Much darker darks.
And really don't be afraid to shade over on the darker side. The airplane appears to be white, or a very bright color as a result.
