Make way for the Drama queen of the Skeksis, skekEkt the Ornamentalist, the vain counterpart of the gentle Mystic, urUtt the Weaver. Her allies were skekSo the Emperor, skekSil the Chamberlain and skekAyuk the Gourmand.
Born of the botch division of the urSkek EktUtt, skekEkt was the Skeksis designer, creating the garments and ornaments that adorn the Skeksis themselves and their Home. When the Skeksis took control of the castle, she began to work around their wardrobes that would mark their symbols of status in the Court. skekEkt was probably the only Skeksis to have final say in her line of work, as she was one the few Skeksis with genuine talent even though she would go to extremes: such as killing 100 birds to use their feathers for one single cloak, and create a special paste made of clotted blood and crushed diamonds to restore the power of Youth. Indeed, the Ornamentalist quest to make everything look young and beautiful was born of her desire to prolong her life, as all Skeksis do.
Beside been vain, skekEkt was probably by far the more twisted in personality (after the Emperor), taking the most gratification out of the suffering of others (hoping for a fight between the Chamberlain and skekVar, or when the General failed to bring the volunteers, which would mean punishment from the Emperor, making fun of the late All Maudra Mayrin to a shock Seladon, or de-robbing the Chamberlain after his defeat at the hands of skekUng), there was nothing she could not get a kick out of, minding it wasn't her beautiful head. The Ornamentalist always had a flare for the over dramatic, screaming and shrieking at the slightest pitiful thing.
Despite her callous and sociopathic behavior she held quite frankly good friendships with skekAyuk the Gourmand, skekOk the Scroll Keeper and skekLach the Collector, constantly gossiping with each other on the machinations that always happen in the Castle, and show concern and fear for skekMal the Hunter when he first lay dying, taking the task to beautify his trophies in his honor, and help with his make up when the Skeksis made the Hunter corpse a display to make sure he would rule at their side forever in the Throne Room. At the battle in Stone in the Wood, the reality of their own mortality came to haunt her as 3 of the Number were killed off (Var, Mal and Lach) weeping specially for the Collector.
After the Garthim Wars, and the Gelfling Genocide, skekEkt took charge in choosing the Poddling Quire, killing those that were rejected. After 999 and 1 Thrine, the callous designer was absorb by her Mystic when the last of the Gelfling, Jen, healed the Crystal, and restored balance to both the urSkek halves and Thra.
However, 100 Thrine later, the Ornamentalist return when the Fireling Thurma cracked the Crystal, causing a 2nd Division, and skekEkt and the others return to cause havoc across the castle. But her bid for freedom was short lived and the Crystal, Skeksis and Mystics were healed. EktUtt, along with the other surviving 6 urSkeks (skekSil and urSol having died in the chaos) left Thra with a rejuvenated Jen, Kira and Fizzgig.
