This is a picture of the character, Hikaru from Keiko Tobe's award winning manga series, 'With the Light: Raising an Autistic Child'. I was asked by icecheetah to contribute something today for Autism Awareness, so I decided that a drawing in memory of Keiko Tobe would be appropriate. After all, she did help to raise consciousness about autism.
I'm not well practised drawing humans, uinfortunately, so I was surprised by how quickly I managed to draw this. Although I'll be the first to say this isn't my best drawing ever, I don't think it's too bad, so it bodes well for the future (I'd like to be able to draw more humans).

I have gotten interested into this, I very likely have Asperger's Syndrome so I have gotten more of in interest about the mind of one, it is something I want to at least figure out, I hate seeing "autism" used as an insult, they use it in the same context as retard and it pisses me off seeing that.
