"You go out on the balcony at night to enjoy some fresh air, only to see a set of glowing eyes staring at you silently from a corner. As your eyes adjust to the darkness, you can finally notice the figure of a small Ajshar standing as still as possible, probably hoping to go unnoticed. Judging by the tattered rags the non-human is wearing, they were probably looking for food or some new clothes...or maybe something even more valuable. What are you going to do?"
It's been a while since I've drawn a night scene, and I also realized I had never drawn the eyes of my cats glowing in the dark!
So, what better opportunity to draw Shadi being an adorable little gremlin and venturing in places where she shouldn't be? :D

Since I'm the kind of person that would be crazy enough to actually let the cougar into the house (or, you know, at least the garage or something and toss it some food), I'd at least offer her a drink and see where things went from there.

Well, more than likely my khajiit , dawning his thief regalia , would probably say that the place is already unburdened of valuables. Then toss a gold coin to the small night prowler before vanishing into the night . That or invite to rob a different house and split the goods
This is lovely. The sky is mesmerizing, giving a sense of tranquility. The shadowing of the buildings in background gives us a sense that we're deep in the city. I do like what you've done with the eyes and the clothes really do give us a sense of what her life is like.
I like your description and in answer, I'd be weary about the dagger. However, her face is more curious than that of being threatening.
I'd be tempted to say. "Its a beautiful evening, would you like to join me for some stargazing? I have bit food I was about have and I'd appreciate the company"
I know that's not what I may do in real life but in this world, you've given us, I'd be tempted to show her some kindness and possibly change her life.
