Douglas and Ida, my 19th century interspecies couple. They're from a time when cats and dogs weren't allowed to be married, they kept their relationship hidden from the world and eloped in secrecy. Here they are cuddling in the warm sun in an empty grass field, away from everyone else, where they can just be themselves and be in love. This is just before the war starts when their lives and history will be changed forever.
