I can explain.
No, really, I can.
It had to do with April Fools Day.
That is the short explanation: the long one is: deviantART.com always does something kooky on the first of April. Last year they just gave us all "so i herd u liek mudkips?' avatars. But this year they distributed a variety of Twilight, Legend of Seeker, and Lady Gaga avatars. They also introduced a new feature where you could give other deviants little llama-badge icons for their userpages (for free), and there was this vague sort of contest to see which team could collect the most llamas. To my joy I got put on the Gaga team (the other options being Seeker, Jacob, or *gasp* sparkle-boy) so for a while I went around smacking all the other Gaga-avatar'd people with llama badges and leaving messages of "You have been Smacked by the Gaga-llama!"
And… well… I got to thinking… and then I got to drawing… and painting… and… um…

Actually the mudkips were two years ago. Last year was the tinfoil hats, which wasn't that big a gag, so not many people knew about it. (I have the badge on my dA from it though).
But back on topic - haha! I've seen Gaga drawn as more creatures lately. Very funny. :P
