From the Geelong West Football Club comes the continuation of the Shadowolf name in Football but unlike his more famous uncle who played for Geelong West from 1995-2007 and Coached the club from 2008-2010, Kyle is a cocky kit who is hoping to make his mark on the FAFL.
Growing up, Kyle was grown up in a football household. His father played briefly for North Geelong in the VFFA D2, His Uncle was a champion at the Geelong West football club and his Grandfather was an important administrative figure in the history of football in Geelong. Thanks to this, Kyle wanted to play footy but he wanted to go a step further than his predecessors. Kyle wanted to make in the FAFL.
In late 2010, His uncle broke a bombshell on the family. He would moving up to the Gold Coast to take a job as the head coach of the Gold Coast reserves side. The family were mixed on the decision. Some of them wanted Bryan to stay in Geelong and coach Kyle up through the ranks of junior football and to change his mind and the others were happy with Bryan wanting to find a new challenge.
Bryan would not change his mind and he would move up to the Gold Coast and take the job. Kyle would be left to pick up the pieces but he would not blame his uncle.
While his uncle was rising through the ranks of the FAFL coaching ladder, Kyle was starting to define himself on the field, Gaining the nickname "Omega" for his playful personality and being contrasting to his uncle's personality of being polite and serious on the field. (Which earned him the nickname of "Beta" because of his personality and being named as the best player outside of the FAFL for 5 years in a row.)
After a brilliant 2016 for Kyle, He has decided to skip his final year at Geelong West and go straight to the FAFL Draft in 2017 being the Youngest Player in the draft pool. Kyle was ready to take his stuffy uncle off his perch and become the first thing when someone thinks of the word "Shadowolf" thanks to his great kicking ability and his more playful personality.
While the first couple of years of his career have not yielded many wins, He has been a backbone for the Darwin Storm after being taken Pick No. 1 in the 2017 Draft. After decent play throughout his first 2 seasons at Darwin, He was given a mega deal to stay with the team. A 5 year, $700,000 a year deal that made him the highest payed player in the FAFL for the 2019 season. It has since been surpassed by his teammate, Kenneth Murphy.
He is now fighting hard for Darwin to make their first ever Finals Series as 2020 looks to be their first season where they have a fighting chance to make it.
