Leith then began to trek through the deeper areas of the forest, slowly going his way as to try and not damage himself. He looked all around him, seeing if he could find anything that remotely resembled a deer. He looked closely into the bushes and looked far into the trees. So far, he hadn’t found his friend. Leith was starting to get worried. What if he had got lost, and couldn’t find him? Thinking about that…he felt a little lost too. He had never been in this area of the forest before.
“Buddy…I get it…you’re a good hider. But can you…please come to me now…?” Leith said weakly, feeling a little afraid of being all alone. He continued to slowly trek through the bushes and shrubs, trying to find his deer friend. It had now become very dark, and he had to be careful where he went.
Then all of a sudden, his right tyre slipped on a patch of wet mud. Leith lost his balance and his body tumbled to one side. He then began to roll down the steep hill, his body hitting rocks, trees and bushes as he tumbled down. His tyres waved frantically as he tried to stop his fall.
“Ooh—umph—argh!” He cried as he bumped and bashed down the slope. Eventually, he came to a stop on a level piece of land.
His body was battered in all the places you could imagine. His bumpers were bent and twisted, his bonnet was crunched and smashed, and his roof has caved in slightly from hitting the ground several times. Leith felt very weak after his fall. He tried to get up onto his tyres, but he was too exhausted to do so. All he could do was lie there as the trees whistled and moved in the wind.
