Note that the recipe calls for apple cider, which is usually alcoholic. If need be, you can use apple cider vinegar that's watered down and add a little bit of baking soda. This doesn't effect he final flavor significantly but I found it left a very, very faint metallic taste. You want to use about 1:1 baking soda/water and only a small pinch of soda.
