some discussions i saw mentioned that they had to complete redo the backend. old and new DA are completely incompatible. (basically, the site code had wound up extremely messy and unwieldy, so they were pretty much forced to completely redo things)
hopefully they're able to address the absolute flood of bug reports and feature requests i have no doubt they're being swamped by at the moment.

i'm still going to use DA tho but that doesn't mean i like Eclipse (never have, never will. i may get used to it but that's about it). i don't think i'll ever forgive DA for this, the website is supposed to be like our home but at the point they decided to "upgrade" it, it felt like anything but.
