YO WHATTUP IM BACK TO THIS FURRY FEST
Deviantart screwed up their site big time so I'm going to be here for now until they fix things. I was fine at first, but they got rid of Sta.sh writer which is something i used primarily for my writing and of course they JUST had to get rid of it, so that was basically the straw that broke the camels back. I'm not going to be uploading a lot of my older art, and I'll mainly just be uploading all the new pieces from when I bought my new computer, but I'll definitely begin to be more active here.
I'll be making a new journal once i finish uploading everything! In the mean time, heres the story that goes with this piece:
My friend is dying.
I don't know what's happening with her. Shes a magical plush being but... She shouldn't be dying so soon, she's only just around 30 years old.
I've been trying all I can to keep her alive, creating potion after potion to help keep her strength up, but it barely does anything. I've scoured the deepest edges of the forest, risking my neck by edging the village we were both outcast from just to try and find something to keep her alive. I worry that every time I return home, she won't wake up...
I have to keep her alive, and I'm nearing the edge of my rope. I don't know how much longer she has until she's finally gone.
---
It was that time again to try and find some more ingredients for the potions I make. I dawned my cloak and took my basket, taking one last look at my sleeping friend before venturing off. I kept my gaze on her as I clenched the doorway, eventually having to force my hand off to leave the house. I raised my cloaks hood and headed off.
I walked for who knows how long through the woods, thorns and prickers sticking to my boots and cloak with stuck leaves and cobwebs all across my outfit. I managed to make my way through a pricker bush when I found what I was looking for: a cave. I try not to venture too far into them since they don't usually have what I need, but for my friend? Its worth everything to risk.
I sighed as I looked up at the cave, it just so happened to reside on a steep hillside... I slung my basket over my shoulder and clawed my way up, but lost my footing and slipped off, falling into the mud. I took my cloak off and shook off the mud, putting it back on and trying to claw my way back up. I made it about halfway this time around when I took a wrong step and loosened up a stone, losing my footing and slipping back down. I tried desperately to keep my claws in the side of the hill but fell back down at the edge of the hill again.
I landed on something rough and noticed my basket was surprisingly light. As I sat back up, the basket handle fell off my shoulder and into my lap. I looked back to where I fell back and found the scattered remains of the basket in the crater of mud.
It took me longer than I'd like to admit to make that basket. In one swift move, it was completely destroyed.
I threw the handle into the mud and swiftly took of my boots, climbing up the hill using the claws of my hands and feet. I went up faster than the last two attempts and barely managed to make it to the top before my anger let up. I pulled myself up, taking a second before getting up to catch my breath.
I glanced over to the side of the cave and saw dozens of plants inside of the cave. Vines wrapped inside the rocky walls with flowers that lit up the inside of it. Rocks and bugs also lit up the cave, a bright blue glow clearly being emanated from the bottom of the steep entrance.
I brought myself back up as I took off my cloak, shaping it to be a small bag to hold everything. As I was collecting everything from the cave, the bugs and flora were all starting glowing a bright purple.
"What are you doing in my home?"
I jumped back and accidentally dropped all my items into the caves hole. Forgetting someone even spoke, I looked back down the cave to see everything I had collected being dropped at the bottom. I stared at it until the voice spoke up again.
"Hello? I asked you a question."
I looked back to see what the voice was. They were like nothing I had seen before.
Their body was completely black, with a body shape barely present with small black wisps constantly moving across them. Small circular cracks could be seen all across them, with a bright purple glow shining through them. Their eyes and mouth illuminated the same purple glow, with their eyes being that solid color, no pupils in sight. The way their body was shaped along with their voice led me to assume they were a woman.
"Well? Are you just going to sit there and gawk at me or are you actually going to respond?"
She started walking towards me. I stammered as I tried to keep my distance, keeping my eye on the drop behind me. She eventually stopped right in front of me.
"I'm going to ask you one last time," she grabbed my shirt and brought me up, leaning me over the edge of the drop behind me, "Why are you here?"
"I am so sorry, I-I didn't mean to come into your home! I-I'm just trying to find some ingredients for some potions! You see, my friend needs help and-"
She looked at me wide eyed then disappeared, manifesting behind me and pushing me away from the hole. I ended up falling straight onto my chin, my teeth feeling about ready to shatter from the impact.
"So you're trying to help a friend out, are ya?" She cackled as she whipped around me as a black mass, manifesting in front of me yet again.
"Well I know of a way to help."
I furrowed my brow as I stared her down, sitting myself back up.
"You don't even know what my situation is." I hunched my shoulders as I looked down at her. She looked at me disappointingly as she laid her head down onto her arms.
"No, I do not," she sighed, "And you probably don't trust me all that much, do you?"
"To be completely fair, I literally just met you - not to mention you don't look like anything I've seen before."
She sighed again, "Well I guess that's fair. Well, Best be on you way then!" She shrugged as she walked back over to the entrance, gesturing over to it.
I looked her up and down again. I shouldn't be one to judge by appearances, and she's being rather polite to me after having just barged into her home. Maybe she really can help?
"Well? Are you just going to sit there all day?"
"W-wait-" I responded as I stood myself back up, "You... Are clearly very different from others that I have met. Would... You be able to help my friend out?"
"Oh I thought that you would never ask!" She let out as she disappeared again and manifested in front of me.
"So pray tell, what wrong with this friend of yours?"
I stammered and stepped back, still unsure if I should trust her.
"U-um, m-my friend, she's not... Holding up very well. She's a being created from magic and it's already withering away despite still being so young. I've been trying to find something that can revitalize her spirit, that's why I came to this cave. I don't usually venture into them, but I'm desperate to help her."
"What sort of magic being is your friend?" She asked as she leaned in closer as I took a step back.
"S-she's uh, she's an uh-"
"If you're worried I'm going to do something to her, trust me, have you seen what I look like? I could care less about what she is."
"O-oh. Well, um, she's a plushie. I always heard about how they can live as long as a mortal being but, she's so young. I don't know whats happening."
She gave me a smug look as she brought herself back.
"Well lucky for you, I have just the solution you're looking for!" She brought her hand up as a piece of parchment paper came out from her wrist. She grabbed it and put it front of me. I carefully take it from her hand and get ready to open it when she places her hand on top of mine.
"Nah ah ah! I don't want you reading it just yet! Take it home with you first, that way you'll know it'll be safe from prying eyes." She said as she put her finger up to her mouth and winked. I clutched the paper and placed it in my shirt.
"I imagine you probably won't tell me what this will do now will you." I squinted at her.
"Theres nothing to tell about it! But, I can tell you still don't trust me, so-" She disappeared and manifested behind me, laying her hands on my shoulders, "I will tell you this!
"That incantation will help your friend become better than she ever was before! She'll be lithe on her feet, her energy coursing through her like never before! And will live to be older than any mortal being." She explained as she continually transformed her body, changing it to portray the benefits she was describing.
"I should also mention the incantation can work for anyone, anytime," She mentioned as she stared me down, "So if you like how your friend turned out, you can use it yourself! I mean-" She whisked away and manifested besides me, putting her hands on my shoulder and resting her head on them, looking up at me.
"Who doesn't want to be immortal?"
She then manifested back in front of me. It all sounded too good to be true, but this might be my only chance to help her...
"And you're sure this will make her live longer?"
"I swear it upon my life." She said as she made an x on her chest, a small purple x being visible before disappearing into the black.
"Do you... Not want anything in return?"
"No - I just ask that you pass on the teachings for the God himself who created the incantation-" She said right before the entire room went black. It was possibly the blackest black I've ever experienced, I couldn't see anything in front of me.
"Discord."
The black void then disappeared. I was in the middle of the forest again.
I looked back and barely saw the hill within the fog. I took the parchment out of my shirt again and observed it.
Discord... I've met followers for specific gods but never one for Discord. Maybe she was created by him? That would explain why she looked the way she did.
I shoved the parchment back into my shirt and sped walked off. If this really was created by one of the Gods, it might just be able to work.
