A British-style 'fry-up' breakfast includes such things as toast, at least two types of meat products, eggs, baked beans and tomatoes.
So I decided to take a swing at it. Here we go:
Ingredients:
Whole wheat bread
Margarine
Spam, low-sodium
Bacon (sadly, not the crispy kind we had before the war)
Egg substitute (like Egg Beaters brand), 6 tablespoons (2 eggs equivalent)
Black pepper to taste
Mild chunky tomato salsa, 2 tablespoons
Baked beans, 3 tablespoons
1. Fry the bacon till it's done the way you want; set it aside.
2. Fry the Spam in the bacon drippings. It's magical!
3. Spray a bowl with cooking spray; pour in the egg substitute, season, beat severely but with love with a fork - and microwave it on High for 1 minute 20 seconds (YES I USE A MICROWAVE DON'T JUDGE ME). After it sets, cut it in half.
4. Toast the bread, apply the margarine or butter, cut each slice in half.
5. Assemble as shown, and warm the beans in the microwave (YES) for about 20 seconds.
Serve with fruit juice, milk, and/or coffee.
Verdict: Extremely tasty, and VERY filling. I'm glad I'm not planning on a lot for lunch . . .
