Some of the most true words spoken in a movie by far, telling us that regardless of what is said by higher powers of government, religion, doom speakers, and the like, there IS NO fate but that which is made by ourselves. Nothing is set in stone and the concept of destiny is merely the ramblings of the ignorant.

I was taught early on "it is only a movie". That and the military taught me, as a kid, quite a bit about Nuclear strikes. This scene never really effected me much. I don't think I was warped in any way, just not... maybe I am warped in a good way?

I love this movie. Linda Hamilton was perfect. She and Sigourney Weaver, as Ripley from Aliens, were two of my heroes as a kid.

This is honestly one of my favorite scenes from a visual fx standpoint because I love seeing practical fx like they did in that movie
