If it's not obvious by now, I'm having a lot of fun revisiting old OCs from high school. This is Syd and Lawrence.
Syd is a snake/gator creature living in a bayou. He's not really sure what sort of monster he is, and thinks at some point he might have actually been a human. He speaks fluent English, French, and Creole (Mostly of the Louisiana and Hatian types) He operates mentally and emotionally very much like a human, but still a big ol scaly beast. His face and back scutes are bare bone that he likes to keep clean and free of algae and muck collected around the swamp (He likes the creepy skeleton look) He's a bit loud and energetic, loves the idea of things like parties and socializing. But he understands that a huge 20ft long gator monster showing up in the city would create problems, so he sticks to the bayou with his gator and snake friends.
Lawrence Rush is half white, half Hopi (Mother's side) He lost both of his parents in a car accident when he was 8, and moved to a small town in southern Louisiana with his father's side of the family. He's generally quiet, but has a bit of a bite to his personality. He's very blunt, and often rude. His sweet side really only comes out around his family and Syd. He enjoys playing the harmonica, a family heirloom passed down from his great-great grandfather on his mother's side. Other hobbies he likes are woodworking and fixing cars. As an adult now, he works on his uncle's car shop. He's been making plans to possibly move back to Arizona, but doesn't want to leave Syd behind.
Syd and Lawrence met not too long after Lawrence moved to the area. Having made friends with some troublemaking kids, Lawrence went off on a boat ride with them only to be stranded in the bayou as a prank. After being lost for three days, Syd happened to find him passed out and weak from exposure and being unaccustomed to the region. Instead of eating Lawrence like some other monsters might do, Syd took him to a safer place and took care of him for nearly a week. The two ended up becoming fast friends, and eventually found themselves in the odd spot of perhaps developing romantic feelings for each other. Being around the same age (Syd is a few years older) the two are now in their late 20's and trying to figure out how their relationship can continue to work.

I MIGHT make some more art of these two and their story since they were both comfort characters in high school. We'll see though...
