“O’er the winter-kissed Wolfshead
Among the fir and snow
Here grows the Blue Lady.
“The maiden weft of brave
With the entrails of men
And strands of arrows warped,
She stood where hundred ran
Unyielding under the iron fall.
“Foredoomed to annihilare she rode
Of stout and blithe spirit
For war’s alarms, biting down
Into Death’s charge, taking it;
One life in the fray.
“The maiden who weaved
Herself to Death and storm,
Became known the Blue Lady.
No King nor Earl stands
For o’er all the Wolfshead
Woe to the warrior who
Don not bow their head
To her.
“And let he who listens
Know of this truth:
He who finds her flower
The Blue Lady shall bless,
For he holds a warrior’s heart.”
