Little fanart of Knuckles, sitting on the Master Emerald, taking care of his duty as a guardian.
This echidna is my favorite character from the Sonic the Hedgehog serie, both for his design, and his role in the serie... Until Sonic Generation where he is just used as a running gag which is, pretty sad.
Working on this piece, using the original Sonic Adventure as a reference did gave me a new appreciation for the background design of this game! For something released in 1998 (if my memories are correct), the texturing work was rather impressive! Sure it's mostly pattern repeating, but it was done pretty well, and did a good job with the overall atmosphere of the Master Emerald altar!
