Comm from a while ago, cute lil' Meowstic~
While some might think Meowstic enjoy yarn for the same reasons as other cat Pokémon—and indeed it does share many of them—there is a deeper reason for it. One must merely witness the way they okay with the yarn, how they always seem to become entangled in it as they tumble and turn. This is not by mere accident, at least not entirely, and instead is one of the ways Meowstic engage with their desire for self-control, even if that means removing control from themselves. Indeed, it is a by-product of their formative years as an Espurr and living up to the 'Restraint Pokémon' moniker. As such, their habit of getting stuck in tight places and becoming wrapped by their toys is quite purposeful and their trainers are encouraged to let them do so (within reason while keeping their safety in mind, of course). This behavior can also be taken to signify that the Meowstic feels safe and calm enough to put themselves into such predicaments, especially if they do so in front of their trainer in an almost reverse form of playing fetch; instead of retrieving the toy from the Pokémon, Meowstic must be retrieved from the toy. It is believed that this might also be why Meowstic take to Pokepoof therapy so readily, entranced as they are by the concept of giving up a great deal of autonomy in exchange for a deeper emotional connection with their trainer and having their needs catered to.
So, in conclusion, don't worry, the behavior is natural and they greatly enjoy the act of tying themselves up and having their trainer dote over them as they're untangled. Also, tucking them in extra tight will aid in their sleeping habits; you can learn more about how to fold blankets for swaddling by referring to the How To section of your Pokeplex device.
