The Long Way Home
A lone Lehnadrad attempting to traverse Lignamira’s only desert to the—as yet unexplored—stilted megalopolis. These tremendously large cities are each unreachable by normal means and remain uninhabited until a sentient creature of significant complexity manages to uncover the entrance or solve the puzzle to gain entry.
These urban centers of technologically and accelerated evolutionary potential blinked into existence during the crucible of the Second Awakening by The Great Lesser god, the Strand.
Sand monster loosely inspired by Beetlejuice, “Tremorsl” and I also wanna say Mass Effect?

Well, I think a reason I enjoy your work is it does carry that 1970s aesthetic torch, which is always a influence of mine as well. On the other hand..... you need to read your classics... I mean chronicles of Riddick isn't, but its an enjoyable film/universe. Dune though is a master piece for a reason, the book series that is. There would no Star Wars or 40k without it. As the Dune movies go Lynch's Film misses the mark and is very inaccurate for the book. The 2001 mini series has some bad acting and CGI but follows the book really closely and hits the mark closer.
I’ll add that to my list, I’ve been dying to get lost in a new book series after A Song of Ice and Fire.
And thank you about the 1970s sci-fi/fantasy aesthetic. That’s high praise lol, and I hope that my book and hopefully saga in the works will reflect the same general aesthetic and appearance...
...although there aren’t many deserts on Lignamira being as it’s primarily a forest world, but I’d like to make it clear that it’s not a mono-climate planet like George Lucas always had (Ice planet Hoth, sand planet Tattooine, Endor the forest world, lava planet where anakin loses his skin)
