This is a really gorgeous picture! It's so cute. I knew there must have been some flirtiness like this going on behind the scenes. The sunlight on her really adds to the effect - she's kinda...illuminated and shining, like she probably is in his mind anyway. And the sly look and the finger under the collar are really nice too. :3
Hehe, thanks! :D I think it'd be hard to imagine Don trying to flirt with how shy he is, but maybe some subtle things came from her. ;P
And memories in stories and stuff are usually sephia... I'm not sure if I did it for the reminiscent part, or I wanted that dusky afternoon hours sorta feel... but the lightyness suits her, yup! :3

The glow definitely comes through as a neat effect, and it does give the pic that reminiscenty/late afternoon feel. And I can see how Don is more the shy one, even here. It looks like he's kinda tugging back on his coat, not sure if he wants things to keep going in that direction at that moment - it adds some more sweetness to the pic.
I honestly could see this pic displaying at the very end of the comic series itself. Kind of like once Don's speaking / writing his last remarks to Dr. Ama, the screen fades to black before, shortly there-after, bringing this image into view with the word "Fin written in the corner in cursive. :)
As you put it so well, though, stories only take us on the path most relevant to the core subject matter. Thus, a scene like this is a writer's / fan's dream as it helps add greater depth to a work in which one becomes actively involved in. :)
