Many businesses have had to close during the threat from Covid19, however for some of these establishments, the closure may be permanent. The Vancouver Aquarium is under threat right now, as they are receiving no funding or aid from their government during this shutdown, and when you house and care for over 50,000 fish, mammals and reptiles that threat is all the more critical.

Several Artists are working to design charity pins to help aid the Vancouver Aquarium and I'm throwing my dice in too, to help in any way I can. I spent last night designing a Carousel Pin that I hope - with all your help - we can turn into a real pin where 100% of the profits will be donated to the Vancouver Aquarium.

This design is based off the Steller Sea Lion - one of the many, many species in the care of the Aquarium - and features forget-me-not flowers. I chose the Steller Sea Lion as a few of the ones living at the Aquarium actually belong to the University of British Columbia, and are part of a research program aimed at studying the causes for the collapse of the Steller sea lion population in Alaska. If that doesnt fit the theme of my Conservation Carousel, well then I don't know what does!

This pin will be roughly 2in in length, have screenprinting details in the flowers, black nickel plating, 2 pin posts and a special backstamp to remind why it was designed. This will also be a LIMITED RUN design. We need at least 25 pre-orders to send these into production, which will get 100 pins made. If we happen to go over that pre-order amount (ex: 40-50) the production amount will go up to 150-200, and so on. But thats it! I wont remake this design after the initial run, making this special charity pin even more special.
