The raccoon sow on the right is Bernyce Euterpe Pratt-Wallingford (nèe Bernice Wallingford), a woman of great wealth, greater taste, and when she gets an itch, by God she'll scratch it - vigorously. She was granted a patent of nobility as Baroness von Triesen by the Prince of Liechtenstein after she served a year or so as governess to one of his great-nephews when she was taking the Grand Tour after graduating from college in 1904.

The rather severe and chilly roedeer femme beside her is Angelica Maria Luisa von Neihardt, employed as the raccoon's "secretary." One does wonder if she takes dictation standing up, or seated - or in bed, or on any convenient horizontal surface (refer to earlier passage about scratching certain itches).
