A very early page (checked; Hemlock's Scar pages 1-4) had her having a nightmare of memories where we saw it on her dead sister's hand after what I can only assume was the Hemlock attacking and causing harm. And since she believes Zoana might be the Hemlock's daughter, it makes sense she would get angry that her chance at potential vengeance for her sister and/or the fear that the situation might happen again. To her, it likely might turn out terrible if they let Zoana stay.
FINALLY! Somebody else who saw the logic in Katherine's actions, as clearly misguided as they were. Ever since this comic started, everyone and their budgie seemed to jump on the chance at hating her without even choosing to sit back, have a sip of tea, and just watch the story unfold =_=
Whilst I do understand the reasons for her actions it is still unfair to blame/hate Zoana for something she had nothing to do with as far as we know. Not to mention with her actions she could've caused the opposite of what she's trying to do and make Zoana cause harm unintentionally which she already did (or almost). But yes, I agree, let's sip some tea and see where this goes.
Yes, absolutely! Katherine messed up, she could've caused more harm than good if Zoana wound up failing the test. Katherine isn't a monster, she's just foolish.
As for where this goes, well, while I'm not aware of exactly how yet, it's clear that Kat's intended to be one of the main protagonists of the comic, as can be seen in several of Blue's past promotional art

For me, that "single fist-pounding on the table" gesture during a meeting always brings back fond memories of the Hunt for the Red October game. "We demand an explanation!"

( about 4:50 to 5:33 into that video if that time stamp doesn't work...
... and it was a pretty hard game for a little kid, so every cut scene meant an accomplishment.)
