Back in the days, I really became curious of the Fire Emblem saga because I played a fuckton at Smash Bros Melee with Roy as my main, and internet was feshly there for me. I tried it, played it and loved those games at that moment, something I can't really do anymore because I don't have anymore consoles. And the Fire Emblem community was the first (english) one I came in, with great people overall that made me enjoy the games even more through discussions, theories... At that time, Fire Emblem just came out in the US and Europe for the first time in the saga.
And at the same time, I was sometimes making some fanfiction in my head about it. Like, Fire Emblem 7 firstly introduced the concept of the Tactician (named Mark) and somehow, I thought "Hey what about the idea that the tactician is YOU, and you can play it on the battlefield" (way before Fire Emblem Awakening was developed), making your own OC into the game. Sword of Seals especially, the 6th game. So I was thinking about myself being a tactician and a fire magician too, I was at that age when I was considering fire powers cool... So yeah, I fantasized about being in the Fire Emblem world, rekting ennemies and all. That's probably the first time I ever imagined something like an OC, though it was (young) myself.
Something else, too, is that during my time in the Fire Emblem community, I also tried making myself with game sprites from features and faces of the GBA games. It turned quite alright (you can see the result right here) and somehow, I launched that trend in the community as well but that's another story (though, yes, I'm a bit proud of it :'3 ). Imagining myself in the FE universe and even making a sprite, a picture of this character, that was it. I also drew some inspiration from FE characters' names, and thus I called him Elthaim. And this is the username I usually use on the internet now.
So this is the story of my first ever Original Character, and probably close to the concept of a persona. And I'm truly glad to finally have a picture of him.
