Another was Crown Prince Yoshihito of Japan. The fox was quite taken with her when she appeared at the Cherry Blossom Festival in Tokyo and later when she adopted full geisha regalia. She never had a bad thing to say about him.

She met and hired Angelica von Neihardt, the daughter of a prominent Prussian noble family, in 1931. Bernyce had left New Haven in 1929 before the Red Fist Revolt, and had settled in Liechtenstein and Switzerland. Angelica's quite a faithful and . . . let us say, versatile employee.
