why didn't you just put the sound effect into the frame where it hits the tree? would guarantee no sound lag :3

That's a good idea I think...

Lol, I dunno how sound works too well with Flash, I just put it on a layer underneath all the other layers - for orderliness.
So, I suppose if I broke up the sound in each frame, then that would work... Should work at least xD

lol well ok, the overall affect is awesome, the humor in the cat hitting the tree is perfectly timed to jolt the viewer from the poetical affect into the humorous effect.

That's the intention! Glad it all worked out ^-^ <3!

Though, I actually exported this wrong. The sound isn't binded to the animation, so in some cases, the sound'll come earlier, or later even xD! Ah well, lesson learned, =)
