UFO: Enemy Unknown is (one of) the greatest game(s) ever. And this is my humble tribute to it. :B

The starting animation was the coolest ever too XD
I guess by now if i saw it, it would seem a bit seedy. Or then not!! *hums the theme*
*Found Alien Base* *Found Alien Origins*
Make them laser pistols for fun and profit. Plasma makes da illa alien spasma *beatboxes the tune*

It was somewhat creepy when say, steve would panic. Walk to a barn and then flip his shit and go under alien control.
When you go see Steve you're all like 'Why steve! What are you doing alone in this field?!'
*hiss* *boo* *hiss*
Then later the Chrysalis hatchin'
*shows how with hands*

Is it bad that I actually liked Chrysalis missions? That meant that I just burned a city to the ground though..
I also enjoyed giving Ensign Ricky with the low psi ratings a pistol and a medkit in case he was mind controlled. I always assumed my guys were giggling at the bullets bouncing off of their armor

This was their first snakeman terror mission. They end up viewing reapers as herbivores, and every other type of terror creature as tools.

Weirdly, in my current game (written up on the clockwork mansion), I have suffered no casualties to Terror units.
Then again, I have had something like three times the Floater terror missions as any other type...
And it really helps when it turns out your crew includes several 90+ psi strength troops.
And I think you missed something. Blaster Bombs. Usually useless on the part of the Aliens, but when they do it properly you WILL lose half the squad.
And, from last time I commented, there is a melee weapon in XCOM. Use the item stack glitch on a Laser rifle and a Stun Rod. It basically gives it a (lethal) bayonet. It's got different TU costs, does lethal damage rather than stun...
I'm too scared to do it (and I have Heavy Plasmas now anyway), but there you go.

Hey Siegfried, you played the remake of it yet?
I say yet... because, though it's been out merely a week, I have to say... it's IMPRESSIVE!
I grew up with X-Com and I shared Spoony's cry of BETRAYAL when I saw what was originally planned.
But the remake? The REAL one? Turn-based strategy brought to the new era ^_^
