Alright so like, I love TLK and all, but as a kid I started moreso allowing the movie's visuals instead of messages wash over me when Simba hit puberty. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the film past that part, but adult Simba just wasn't as fun to me as baby Simba. I think maybe the reason for that is because adult Simba spends a lotta time moping and then gets a weirdly small amount of lines towards the film's climax... and also because I just am not a fan of Matthew Broderick. I don't hate him or anything, he's just a little bland and a little whiny and that carries over to his Disney mandated fursona. don't @ me

It's very faint, but you may be able to notice the remains of cub spotting on his coat. This was intentional for two reasons: 1) I wanted to illustrate that Simba quite literally still has some growing up to do, and 2) I wanted him to be a thuper thpeshul example of his species, so I made him a Marozi lion, a cryptozoological variant of African lions who are born with almost leopard-like spots. I woulda made him something else like melanistic or leucistic, but melanistic lions aren't really A Thing and I would NEVER be able to get away with making him white. Also, he gets scraggly ungroomed 19 y/o bangs because I've never really liked him having his dad's mane.
