Playing with the most powerful part of someone's soul Is not just a difference of opinions. if you violate something another person holds sacred, it is still a violation if you don't hold it sacred, or don't know that they do. Just like it still hurt if someone accidentally smashed you in the face because they didn't see you standing behind them.
you probably feel say this to condemn you in some sense. I say this because I don't want you to be hurt this way again.

If someone elbowed me in the face unintentionally, I wouldn't be mad at them and accuse them of doing it on purpose just to hurt me.
People have insulted me before unintentionally. They have attacked me unintentionally. I understand his position. What I don't understand is why he's acting the way he is.
I won't let this happen again. I'm going to be a little more picky about who I talk to.

It's admiral, but unusual that you have that degree of emotional control. most people's first instinct is to strike back when hurt.
He's probably acting that way because he is lonely, felt he had finally made a deep and meaningful bond with someone, and you shattered that illusion which was desperately important to him, so he's feeling shattered and reacting irrationally.
:D yay good, I'm glad --and not surprised--that you are willing to learn form a mistake.

You're probably right about him...he's got quite a few friends online. Not sure about in real life though.
I know how most people would react...and I view it as a product of being a human. I'm misanthropic enough to hate certain aspects of humanity and force myself to change it. I really don't find it weird. I feel as if more people should do it, but they won't because they don't care about others. They only care that they got hit. They are important. This all goes back to my theory of the "Me Society".
If someone were to seriously elbow me in the face, given their responce after they realize what went on, I would react appropriately. If they didn't do anything about it, no apology or even a glance at me, I would probably get quite upset because given their responce, they did it on purpose. I really don't think I would do anything about it though. If they turn around and apologize, then I'd tell them it's ok and walk off. Of course I'd be upset. I just got hit in the face, but I wouldn't hold it against them. I'd just go off, let out my frustration in a controlled manner, then go back like nothing happened.

I agree more people should learn to react as you do. but for many this is not easy to learn, and even if they want to learn many don't know how or don't even realize it is possible. Some don't even realize it is good not to retaliate, they fear people will think they are weak if they don't retaliate. We should be patient with them all.
