An opportunity to become a part of a creative team or a project is one of the highest honors I can get as an artist.
The man who hired me to paint this found me at the time when I was just starting my illustration career. I had very little to show to prove that I can be a valuable contributor and worth investing in, but I got the job anyway and I was not about to let that opportunity go to waste.
For this job I was offered to paint a landscape, which was always a dream job for me so naturally I was going to overdo it.
I opened a standard format file for a landscaped painting, went to options, canvas size and typed in "200%".
And from there it's all been fun, creativity, 20 hour work days, trial and error, learning, "just one more thing" obsessing...
This was such a defining experience for me. Finishing this painting was a proof to me that I can achieve my goals artistically, and that I can live up to my principles as an employee, and my boss on this project proved to me that in fact, great bosses do exist, that they will recognize your hard work and reward it.

I do solemnly believe, from what I see and witness, that you have outdone yourself with this mesmerizing work of art! Every second of those many hours paid off in full, IMHO.
I just REALLY wish I could see a hi-res version because there's SO MUCH DETAIL to be accounted for! Fascinating and so intricate! Thank you kindly for sharing this awesome-sauce!!

You have created an AMAZING landscape. It's evident the amount of time you've put into this. The detail here is of high caliber. There is so much to see here, the use of purple colouring, the sense of depth both subterranean and in size is impressive, the atmosphere here shows this is place of history and wonder. I honestly spent a while examining the picture it was like visiting a different world.
