The Survivors of the loss
These 11 books were literally ALL that was salvageable from the water damage caused by a leaking foundation.
Just 6 Osprey reference books, out of hundreds I would use. Many of the titles I can't even begin to list. I bought them as I needed them.
The Mort Walker Beetle Bailey book I got Mort to sign literally a month before his passing away. Thankful that was barely touched by the dampness. Sadly I lost all my Footrot Flats Weekender books. Won't be able to replace those here in the states. I bought those in Australia in 99. Even my Murry Ball signed copy...lost.
I salvaged a first edition of Sad Sack from 1944 in very sad shape, I hope to somehow save it, got to kill the mold first. Any suggestions?
Still, almost my entire library...gone.

We had a watderline to the washer fail many many years ago while we were at a movie, boxes of 1940-1960 era science fiction paperbacks took the brunt. I tore off the front covers, laid them out in the sun to dry then shoved them into a large envelope. I've replaced one (cost, about thirteen times cover price) but the envelope has vanished.
And thus goes our dreams.
"Been there, done that, burned the t-shirt."

You may possibly post about this on Reddit, including the list of books that were damaged beyond salvation. It's a long shot, but people may be willing to ship a copy if they have one. That said, I might be able to find a copy at a locally owned bookstore, and will gladly check, if you can write me up that list.
Not on Reddit.
I scanned what books I could and posted them on my link to the Amazon wishlist with exception to the Ospreys lost.
I can assure I lost all the Aircraft of the Aces and Combat aircraft #1-95, all the Men at War numbering #1-250. Plus numerous Warrior series and Elite series from #1- 175 (I didn't collect them ALL...like zero books related to the Napoleononic era or War of 1812.) Anything with Medieval armies I did collect for references.

Dang. Well I got curious on those Ospery Men at Arms books. Found 12 former library ones on Ebay for 38 bucks and tax. bought them. https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/SvMA.....-wl/s-l500.jpg I want to read them first but let me know the next time you come to AZ, they're yours then along with a few other military books I have.
Sounds like me - I've lived in this apartment since '82 (!), and between rent stabilization and a NYC program that covers rent increases for us olden folks, I'm paying between 1/2 and 1/3 what other people pay for apartments in this building...if anyone else lived here.
Far as I know there's only 1 other occupied apartment here out of 12 overall. Almost everyone moved out after last year's fire. They were just beginning to repair the 4 burnt-out apartments when the virus froze everything - but there are 6 apartments here that as far as I know are in fine shape, not sure why they haven't tried to rent them out.
