...Since my hun
is in the hospital, this is for her to hope that she's feeling better :3
These come from a famous lobster restaurant that shall remain nameless :p
Ingredients
4 cups baking mix (used 3 cups)
3 ounces Cheddar cheese, shredded (used 2 cups)
1 ⅓ cups water (used 1/2 cup milk, and 1/3 cup water to loosen the batter)
½ cup melted (salted) butter
1 teaspoon garlic powder (did not have, skipped)
¼ teaspoon salt (skipped - you don't need it, and you won't miss it)
⅛ teaspoon onion powder
⅛ teaspoon dried parsley
1/2 teaspoon dried chives (added in)
1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
~ dash of dried mustard
~ dash of cayenne (optional)
Directions
Step 1
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Step 2
In a mixing bowl, combine the baking mix, cheese, and water. Mix until dough is firm. Using a small scoop, place dough on the prepared pan.
Step 3
Bake at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) for 10 to 12 minutes, or until golden brown.
Step 4
Combine the melted butter, garlic powder, salt, onion powder and parsley. Brush over baked biscuits immediately upon removing from oven. (Skipped brushing it, but you can if you want to...I added it to the batter straight up tbh)
With my oven it took an extra 10 minutes (So I would give this 20 minutes rather than the 12 - and just use a toothpick in the center of the biscuit to check for doneness...if it comes out clean, youre good!)
I will also recommend using parchment paper when baking, it will save you a lot of hassle in the cleaning after!
You will also have plenty of dough leftover - at least for another 6 biscuits or so, freeze the rest...
Very tasty, and you can use cheeses other than cheddar, so don't be afraid to experiment!
Enjoy!
