Yes - I'm using plain D76 to develop it as a negative which adds some idiosyncrasies, as it should be done in a different chemistry. But most of the damage comes from feeding it into the film cartridge. :)
D76 - a homemade version (D76H) is my go to developer for just about anything. You're getting good tonality. Small film like that is tough. I'm not sure if there is a developer that you give you much finer grain.
