hello friends,
i strongly believe that the LGBTQIA+ community needs to support the black community during this time. not just our fellow lgbt+ black members, but the entire black community itself. marsha p johnson was a transgender black woman who threw the first brick at stonewall. she and other activists showed a strong statement to the police that they were tired of the way they were being treated because of their identity. we now need to support the black community and do as marsha did- telling the police that we as Americans are tired. we are tired of innocent black people being killed in cold blood. we are tired of the fear on our black friend's faces as they are in public. we are tired of the dozens of deaths that transgender black women have faced. these, and many other reasons are why we protest and riot.
here are a list of resources of what YOU can do to help: https://twitter.com/tpwkhollands/st.....473954306?s=20
If you cannot go to the protests, or donate money, it is still easy to support! share resources, share art from black artists, sign petitions, and so much more! no one is powerless during this time- use your power to help others.
