And finally they are complete. Side by side. Two equally balanced forces, which move and dance as they prepare their energies for the tasks they perform.
Each one has an opposing and yet complimenting energy and purpose. You can call it yin and yang, life and death, dark and light, but don't call it good or evil for there is no morality in the wilting of a beautiful rose or the flowering of a majestic cherry tree. The lumbering death, end and destruction of one existence is but an opening door of opportunity for new life to spring forth and it is from within the carcasses of the fallen that the new arise.
So they stand. So they dance. So they are, forever entwined perfectly balanced; these two opposing and yet complimenting forces.
I had a great deal of fear and fun in creating these characters. I really enjoy the ideas behind the darker and lighter elements of existence that form balances that we often take for granted or misunderstand. I hope they come across as well as I meant them to. =) These are right now my two favorite animal-themed pieces.
