I am heartbroken as most of us are. Watching democracy crumble from afar is frightening, to say the least, and even if my reach might be too small to change a thing, I need to share my feelings.
I am horrified of being tone-deaf in my response as I'm so far away and even though I try to be informed, I am worried to come off as rude. English isn't my native language and I have no malice in my heart. Feel free to let me know where my education is lacking and I will educate myself further. It's no one's responsibility to educate me beside myself.

I won't post a black square, and I won't hashtag this post with black lives matter. Black feeds carry less weight than, for example, sharing other peoples voices. Especially as #blackouttuesday seems to be co-oped, I suggest finding another way to show support. A good way is to educate oneself. And I don't mean only the people who are directly affected, I mean everyone. Knowledge can help to prevent tragedy. Find out why looting is a form of protest. Find out why all lives matter is a dog-whistle. Find out about dog-whistles in general!

I don't want to preach, I just need to show my solidarity. Silence serves the bigoted in this world. Black lives matter.
