When newly hatched, the Blue Flame Salamanders are often found by a Shogen, or Elder of their species. The Shogen takes in the youngling and trains them, teaching them the ways of the Titan. Their true form.

As a Titan Salamander, they need no food or water. They can survive for many years by absorbing the heat from the fires that blaze through the Smouldering Woods. In turn, their blue flames fuel the same fires that lap at the highly flammable Brumegan trees. The trees themselves are fireproof, but the sap that the trees produce are. They are also known as the Paradox Trees.

The Blue Flamed Salamander, Ebony, cannot become a Titan Salamander because she was never trained by a Shogen. One never showed up when she was newly hatched which in turn was never taught the skills and magic needed to grown into the Titan Salamander.
