"<i>Recreations in Astronomy; with Directions for Practical Experiments and Telescopic Work</i>" by Henry White Warren, D.D. Printed 1886.
This has only been used once in my pictures, but I'll use it more in the future. This is a book on astronomy written from a Christian perspective. Don't let that throw you off, though. It is a scientific book, but it has Christian undertones. "Scientifically, this happens, but God caused it to happen that way." It's refreshing to see the two mold without arguing.
It's hard to see because it's been worn down over the years, but there is a small star map embossed into the front cover.
If you look at the top of the book, you'll see a receipt for it's purchase in Niantic, Connecticut. I keep the receipt simply because the book store is known for having a cat living in it and the receipt actually reads, "Amidst the Inevitable Dwells a Sumo Tabby"

I love that books are used as backdrops, especially old books. I can't get my paws on anything like that around here, well, not for any reasonable price.

Where is "Around here?" cause, depending on where you look, you sure can!

Hmmm... Central Oregon... there should definitely be some used book stores around you. You can find some greatness in there. Just browsing through the selection you can find some nice, OLD books. A lot of them won't have a date of them if they're between 1860-1910ish. I collect them, so I can usually gauge pretty accurately how old they are, but just look in the first couple pages. Either the title page or the publishers page will have the dates of the first printing and that books printing. The latest date should tell you how old it is ^.^

Our used books stores pull out any books that look old, put them on a shelf together and add $20 to the price tag

Well, some older books DO get a $20 increase just for being old... but I'm sure if you sat and browsed, you'd find stuff. Sometimes they won't have anything in the style of book you want, but there WILL be cheap ones. If they're being bitches about it, look online :P ABCBooks is a good website... I think that's it's name
