From out of the black void that was its face, terrible golden eyes burned more fiercely than fire like the eyes of some dark, fell god, and even the livid, flaming hellscape seemed diminished in their presence. Tendrils of shadow whipped and writhed about the creature and seemed to grow as incomprehensible words came from the beast’s now open maw, flashing wicked bestial teeth at the helpless form that was he, and though the beast’s words lacked meaning to his ears, his mind rang with portent:
