I used to have the sexy Bluejay for a background at work (I was in a corner cube, so nobody asked any questions). Then one fateful day, I stumbled across David Allsop's artwork. My first thought was this is the kind of awesome fantasy stuff that goes in Heavy Metal.
So given that Allsop's grim art better fit my mood at time (sometimes the cute sexiness has to go away) I went to work compositing. I never liked white backgrounds for desktops... too much eyestrain. So I pulled the characters, cleaned and laid on top of blue. I spent the next few weeks finding little places I'd forgotten to cut out and fixing it up.
If you haven't guessed already, I have a double-monitor setup at work. The image spans both monitors, with each picture on a separate one, facing each other.
