When playing on an electronics project I'll start with all the bits I think I need neatly tucked into the little pockets of a Plano crafts box (or sometimes the ones they sell for fishing lures!)

By the end of most projects it looks like I'd just thrown all the extra parts in a big bowl and stirred them well!

And I see I'm not the only one having lids that won't stay hinged ...

This is time and time again a fascinating sight - makes me want to pluck out my set of schmincke watercolors and do something on my own.

Do you happen to know if one can scan dried watercolors without trouble?

the problem with scanning is that the scanner's light makes everything brighter and sometimes changes colours. as for me I always have to adjust.

you can try and use sunlight on a clear day, around noon, and take a photography. that also "eliminates" any wrinkles and warpings a scanner would pick up. the result comes rather close to how the original looks like.

I tried it out with a sheet that didn't fit my scanner, and I didn't want to bother with scanning it three times, and the paper was a bit warped, too... so there. ^^

Neat story - i am kind of curious when i get that far... Or dare to something that size.
I know why i stuck to smaller pieces to this day.
Yet, there was a time when i tried bigger things. Have to figure out
What it was that was back then and today not
And then how to get it (back).

Scan dried watercolours? Not sure what you mean. You can certainly use them even if bone dry.

I meant to scan a painting with watercolors, if its possible to scan it without issue when the paint has dried, or if they are issues to be aware of?

Some warping can occur. I tend to fix it in post. Working on a sturdy surface, like illustration board helps. Or sizing your watercolour paper.

A messy palette is a sign of a busy mind.

I've seen the palette used by swiss artist Akeyla, and it looks the same. :)

I have an old thing by Daler, I don't use it that often, but it's of course a good idea to use paints from a tube. the little cakes are rather pricey... I also use the lid's little cups to dilute my ink for inkwashes.

A clean palette is like a clean desk -- it's a sign that you don't have enough work to do and have time to waste on trivial things like "straightening your desk." That's what I tell my boss, anyway. :D

Do you wash your palette between paintings?

Not generally. I will wipe an area clean if I want a pure colour. The pans stay there permanently unless they need to be refilled.
