Nationality: Mali is part of a fictional culture, Maelawi. If pinpointed to earth, Maelawi would be an Indochina-like culture.
-COMBAT-
Alignment (face/tweener/heel): Face
Donts (Fight/RP): Boxing(She’s a kicker), Death, Gore. Supernatural (Magic, etc)
Stances (Describe): Ceairiya, meaning “Goddess wrath” on the Maelawian language. It’s a martial art taught only to girls on Mali’s culture. The combat style focus on claws, kicks and knee strikes, opposed to Phreirya, the male counterpart, which focuses on upper body attacks and biting.
Ceairiya’s stances usually stand on one leg, while the other is relaxed or lifted. Similar to kick boxers and muai thay fighters. As male vs female fights are extremely common between Maelwian people Ceairiya have a lot of counter and offensive moves for upper body attacks, but less effective against other leg-users attackers.
Mali is an expert on Ceairiya, even for her age. Due to her small size Mali was always picked on, she had to rely on her skills to fight off her opponents and thus she ended up perfecting them.
-PERSONALITY-
Mali is a capable girl, intelligent and skillful. Battle of the sexes is an essential part of her culture, the Maelawi. When she was on her tribe she was the equivalent of a bookworm, always training and studding. She knew all the moves, all the male weaknesses, Maelawian masters and teachers even consider her a prodigy.
Of course, this has its drawbacks, Mali is shy, she doesn’t know how to treat people, doesn’t have good social skills. Her focus on her training and the art of fighting has given her a deep respect for Honor (the Maelawian equivalent) is really important to her. Mali has little friends, but for that very reason she will treasure the one she has with all her life
Nowadays, Mali lives outside the comfort of her tribe, adding to her problems, as people don’t operate the same way they do on Maelawi.
Maelawi got customs and practices that are outrageous for normal people, for example, a male has to accept the challenge of a female and fight her, regardless of situation, every time. When Mali issues an “official” challenge people just look at her weird.
Traits:
-Maelawi upbringing, The whole maelawi culture revolves around the literal battle of the sexes. Maelawian girls see males as opponents, Mali is no exception; every time she is with a male she will try to best him. There are some other huge aspects of Maelawian culture that she follows without error.
Mali will always have her legs uncovered, a maelawian is always prepared to fight, that means having his or her weapons ready. For maelawian females those weapons are their legs and feet. She will normally wear small shorts or skirts or even just panties. In colder climates Mali will wear, against her will, long flowing skirts and dresses, but never pants. She will also be barepaw, or wearing sandals that can be easily taken out.
-Honorable, Mali holds honor in high respect, but not the honor we know, but the Maelawian honor. Maelawian honor usually just dictates things about fights, such as: never backing down, fight until you can no more, always dominate your defeated opponents, always worship your victors, and much more usually relating to fight or what comes after it.
Hobbies
Fighting, although more a way of life rather than a hobby for her
Tailoring, as I said before, all Maelawians consider fighting something that everyone do, as so, they all have works and pastimes aside of fighting. Mali’s is tailoring, she was training to be a master tailor.
Modeling, Not only she loves tailoring and making her own sets of clothing, she loves using them and showing them off. One easy way to “break the ice” with Mali is compliment them on her clothing, which is usually entirely made or modded by her
Shopping, Mali found a new world when she left her tribe, and therefor she is extremely curious about it, shopping is a good and fun way for her to get to know the outside world. Her friends say she ends up with things she doesn’t need, but for her, everything is usable.
Dancing, Fighting is something everyone does in Maelawi, but not so much in the outside world, Mali was looking for an alternative, something that could give the same feeling, but it would be acceptable. The answer was dancing, It kindof looked like a fight anyway, at least in Mali’s eyes. She still doesn’t learn that she doesn’t has to submit when she “loses” a dance though.

From a young age Maelawians are told that when a girl defeats a boy, the boy must be the first to congratulate her. When the mealawi reach adulthood this becomes an integral part of their sexuality. Its not uncommon to see Mistresses with male pets on the Maelawi city. Mali is no exception ,she wants to be worshiped by each and every male she defeats.
Maledom – There is something magical about being dominated, could it be the feeling being dependent? Or being under the care of someone better then oneself? From a young age Maelawians are told that when a boy defeats a girl, the girl must be the first to congratulate him. When the mealawi reach adulthood this becomes an integral part of their sexuality. Its not uncommon to see Masters with female pets on the Maelawi city. Mali is no exception, if she is defeated she will do what her victor orders.
Trampling/towering – Mali’s victory poses usually are of her standing next (or on) her opponents, forcing them to look up to her. Due to her small size and light weight she can stand on her opponent’s chests (and even their faces or private areas) without causing damage or much pain.
VS females – On Maelawi Mali was forbidden to fight other females, for cultural reasons. However, now that she is out of it, sometimes fighting another female is inevitable. Mali knows this and still gives her all, but she can get pretty nervous when fighting other females, A woman with a strong personality can easily intimidate her.
On victory Mali will be less sexual that she is versus males, On defeat, however, she will be completely submissive.

-HISTORY-
Mali is a member of a fighting oriented culture called Maelwi. Maelwian culture revolves around the battle of the sexes, even on their religion, Maelwian worship 2 gods, a male god and a female goddess, those two are in constant battle despise loving each other. It’s so serious that the martial art that Maelwi practice is separated into two, one for females, Ceairiya “goddess wrath” and Phreirya “god’s wrath” for males. Ironically their culture forbids females fighting other females and males fighting other males, disputes between two members of the same sex usually are resolved by one of them (usually the accused one) picking a champion of the opposite sex and said champion taking on accuser.
From a young age, Maelwian boys and girls are taught to fight the opposite sex, they are taught to fight, defeat, dominate, and respect their opponent. They consider defeat as beautiful as victory, the act of after fight domination is sacred. When a Maelwian reaches adulthood the domination aspect changes from being an innocent kneeling or a kiss on the hand to a much more sexual act.
All Maelwian rituals involve a female and a male fighting and the subsequent domination between the winner and the loser in one way or another. One famous example is the mating ritual, in which the couple fights a savage fight, which usually ends up with one unconscious. In the end, the defeated becomes the servant of the winner until their offspring is born. Foreigners jokingly call an one sided relationship “Maelwian dates”
Despise their constant fighting humiliation is not part of Maelwians fights, or at least, humiliation as we know it. Mali and all Maelwians are taught to embrace and enjoy their position, were it be dominant and submissive. Humiliation is expected, but the loser usually wants to be humiliated. Extreme humiliations, however, are frowned upon. It works the other way around as well; a victor refusing to dominate is considered a heavy insult to the defeated opponent, usually will end up angering both the defeated and the victor’s families. Regardless of everything, the victor will have the final say, and the loser will do it, extremely humiliating or not.
Mali has lived all her life in Maelwian culture. Defeating countless males on her short life. Mali is an extremely good fighter despises her size. She is even considered a prodigy in the Ceairiya martial art. On tournaments and events if Mali fights it’s an almost guaranteed female victory, one time she managed to defeat the whole male team herself after her partners were defeated. This doesn’t mean she is the best, just the best on her league, Maelwian masters usually don’t fight younger opponents on serious fights.
Keyword being “usually”… Word of Mali’s mastery of Ceairiya at a really young age and subsequent domination of almost all the males her age caught the attention of one of the elite male fighters, Pharyu. “An offspring with her will bring out the ultimate fighter, I cannot let her be claimed by a weaker male” as soon as Mali finished her adulthood ritual Pharyu requested a mating ritual with Mali, she opposed. Both partners need to agree for a mating ritual to happen it’s the law, and Mali wasn’t ready to have a family yet. Despise this, Pharyu status as an elite and powerful member of the community allowed him to bypass this law. Mali was outraged, she claimed this was a betray to everything the Maelawi stood for. The council reached a conclusion Mali was to fight Pharyu, if she won there would be no mating ritual, if he won there would be one.
Mali fought valiantly, but she was no match for the elite fighter. Even though she was close on defeating him on more than one occasion, to Pharyu’s surprise. Eventually Mali fell. There was no playful domination at the end of that match, “You… and the council… betrayed us…” Mali sobbed on Pharyu’s feet, before passing out.
The mating ritual was arranged, Mali was not prepared for mating much less a family. With all the pain on her heart she had to make a hard decision, she had to leave. Her family agreed. Despise what happened, she still loved her culture and her people more than anything. Even though it was forbidden for a young Maelwian to leave Maelwi city
She left one night, she knew Pharyu would look for her. She knew the only place safe was on the city she was always hearing about from the merchants and outsiders
After a long walk and incident on a bar (can you believe it? A male who doesn’t want to fight?) She was pointed to an underground fight club, where she could do what she knew and would be safe from Pharyu and Maelwian soldiers… for a while.
Mali was unsure, everyone there was rough, insulting and disrespecting themselves constantly. “I need to fit if I am to survive… but how?” before she could end she was approached by a lynx girl with a strange proposition, Mali smiled “I’ve found my guide…”
Fighting/Tournament Experiences: Only Maelwian.
Mali is a prodigy; she is extremely good for her age. On Maelawi she was known as Pheuny Khy "Terror of men" Of course, she is young, veteran fighters are still better than her.
She has countless victories under her belt, including tournaments. Keep in mind that Maelawi usually fight people their own age or close… except of course if it’s an special occasion…
At age 10 Mali defeated a 15 year old boy. She wasn’t supposed to win; the match was intended to test the endurance of the apprentices. The older kids were told to fight defensively and not to hit back, while the younger ones attempted to break their defenses. Mali managed to break his defenses and knock the older student down.
Every year, all Maelwian’s old enough enter a rite of adulthood. Female and males fight each other, at the end of the day the sex with the most wins win the rite, the losers then serve the winners until the end of the season. On Mali’s rite the score was tied, for the first time in decades a rite of adulthood was tied and needed one fight to determine the winner. After a extremely hard fight Mali was able to secure the victory for the females
