Since some months ago the magazine “Dibujarte S3” publishes my tutorials about how to draw backgrounds; this image is just a part of those; new tips every 2 weeks.
In an issue I talk about Aztecs and what you can get in a single visit to the museum. You know: from research & investigation to the paper. On image you can see the Templo Mayor, the most important building of Aztec civilization & eagle warrior; near is also a Magolobo & a funny toothy Quetzalcóatl.
Maybe you already ear about him; Quetzalcóatl (Feather serpent) is one of the greatest & famous gods, a wisdom cool guy. Legends and stories goes from many prehispanic cultures like toltecs, Aztecs, maya and more.

Correct!, Quetzalcóatl goes from Myth, Legend, Fantasy and story.
It´s said he was a High priest, and a real man, a white man with beard who loves his people and hates bloddy sacrifices; but of because some cincunstances he leaves his trone with the promise some day will return again.
It´s said he travel many places and was also loved by the Aztec Empire and the Greatest Mayans. If someday you visit those Pyramids you will notice the "feather serpent" is in everywhere.
For those cultures the serpent was a symbol of wisdom.
And, yes... maybe you already saw him in an animated movie. He´s Miguel in the "The Road to El Dorado". Curious detail on this movie mixing a lot of cultures & details.

Check it! Is a pretty movie even if contains mixed cultures, example:
The story tells place this lost city closest was in Perú (maybe?). The city´s buildings and the people looks like Mayans but the warriors look are Aztecs and some graphic details on walls looks like Teotihuanans. In caverns you can find olmec heads. On outside are big structures like Toltecs but decorated with Mayan Designs, and the list goes far away...
Zapotecs, Papantlas, Chichimecs.. wow...
In the movie, the guy named Miguel is very fascinated with the people, is treated like a God, and... better check it out. :D
