this currency was first issued back in 1990 as a eco friendly replacement for the traditional paper currency previously used in it's economy.
they would feature head-bust images of famous historic Animalian figures such as famous explorers, generals, leaders and politicians.
sometimes athletes or even emergency responders or millitary heroes would be adorned on the leaf bills in their honor.
leaves seasonally collected from large groves of trees grown in a giant greenhouse located outback behind the Federal Treasury's printing plant.
the idea of using actual tree leaves in their money system is believed to be able to reduce paper waste by 87% and can lead to saving up to 76% of all trees cut down for use of making paper and building supplies for construction.
but soon this currency will eventually obsolete, a new goverment funded project is currently in progress in the U.T.A called "Project E-CASH".
the goal of the project is to create a paperless or in Animalia's case a leafless digital currency to be used as new replacement money system for the country's economic system.
instead of printed leaves for money or writing on paper checks to make payments, Animalians will be using plastic money cards called "leaf cards" or an app on their phones to make payments when they go shopping or pay their taxes and such.
the Animalian government has stated that they expect this new system to be active by January 1ST, 2025, and the tree leaf based currency will be slowly phased out.
inspite the high tech change to their currency system, Animalia's leaf currency has been backed by precious metals mainly gold to protect it's value, the new digital leaf cureency system will still be backed by gold regardless when en-acted, only this time gold coins and bars as well as coins and bars of other precious produced in the U.T.A be marked a digital bar-code to make Leaf/Precious metal transactions easy for Animalians whenever they want trade in digital leaves for precious metals if necessary.

Stinky: Hehe! I think this is a cute idea. Though unless you got some really good regulations, backing currency with precious metals ain't gonna work out. XD And you can ensure there's no inflation.
Stella: Also, dollar bills are made of cotton. XD Unless they're 100 dollar bills, those are plastic. XD

Stinky: Okey-dokey. ^_^ Also, we know. But that changed for a reason. XD Can't remember why, though. XD
Stella: Heh. XD Well now you know! But this would still help, since it would cut down on plastic production, and minimize need for cotton farming. Thus lowering use of oil, and lowering pollution for plastic production and plastic in general. And allowing more trees to be planted instead of cotton fields.

you would likely be interrogated, asked who and where you got it from and how he was able to counterfeit something extremely impossible to counterfeit and like go to jail for five years for possession of counterfeit money unless of course it was by sheer accident you got a counterfeit bill without realizing it then you would get off scott free
they take forgery like that very seriously because they know it'll be extremely to their country's economy especially after a major incident one time before they swapped to the leaf system where terrorist were trying to print out tons of counterfeit paper money and slip em into their system to ruin their economy in the hopes of bringing Animalia to it's knees, it didn't take for federal to catch on what they were up to and they were busted before too much damaged was done, and take them three years to track down all the counterfeit bills, only then they decided that a new currency was needed and they introduced leaf currency
