Lapis was thrilled to tell Stevonnie all about the big news she had, After years of making Meepmorps, a revered human art critic was coming to to town and want to see her work and even display it in galleries around the planet, Lapis was beyond ecstatic and Stevonnie wanted lapis to be happy even if they never really got the whole Meepmorp thing.
A few days pass by, Stevonnie comes by the studio to check in on Lapis, they were shocked to see her on the floor crying. When Stevonnie held her hand and asked her what was wrong, Lapis told them the critic came by and hated all of her work and told her she was a failure of an artist before running out and flying away to be alone, Stevonnie knew they had to do something.
When Lapis returned to her studio hours later, she was prepared to smash it all and return to the moon, when she realized every Meepmorp inside was missing, which Lapis felt a bit of relief knowing she didn't have to look at her failure any longer as she readied herself to leave she felt a familiar hand grip hers as she looked over and saw Stevonnie smiling and telling her, you have to see something!!
The pair flew off onto the boardwalk of beach city where all of Lapis's Meepmorps were all over the place, Lapis began to panic and scream "how could do this to me?! I'm a failure and you went around parading that around?!" but as Lapis tried to wipe away her tears, she felt Stevonnie do it for her as they said "so what if one person didn't like your art? I don't see them complaining" Lapis looks on at the humans and gems looking at her Meepmorps, laughing, smiling, and taking pictures with them, seeing this brought joy back into her heart and as she looked back into Stevonnie's eyes, something else filled her heart.
Lapis leaned in and kissed Stevonnie, who didn't know how to feel at first, but Lapis wouldn't back away, and the weight of Stevonnie's good deed made them realize how much Lapis really meant to them, as their heart filled with love and both Gems began to glow brightly and merge into one another, and when the light settled, what was left was an abstract work of Meepmorp art of Lapis and Stevonnie.
For Years onward, the two never unfused and never moved an inch, they were living inanimate objects, the very embodiment of art its self, as many over looked this Meepmorp that stayed on the boardwalk and was looked upon by professionals and amateurs alike to give their take on the that art symbolized, even the snooty art critic who inadvertent set all this in motion nearing the end of his career looked on the work and proclaimed it to be a work of art, symbolic of "two mutual loves that don't fully connect but will never be separated".
Regardless of what meaning they held, Lapis and Stevonnie had each other, they were a Meepmorp now and will always be one forever as long as their together, fused as one, no longer individual living beings, they were happy to be seen as an "it", an "object", a "work of art", but most of all a "Meepmorp".
