Chapter 2: Formula Squeaky Four

Somewhere in the backyard at bookstore/apartment. Mascot, and her young friend, Völken Hai Fin were both standing nearby the mini pool, getting ready for some swimming lessons. Völken was wearing her bathing suit plus her watering ring, so it can help her float in the water. Völken was still starring at them annoyed that she still have to wear them. Mascot look at her friend, and see if there was something wrong.

Mascot: everything alright, Völken?

Völken Hai Fin: I'm alright, it just still lame that I have to wear these water rings. Are you hundred percent sure I have to keep them on, I'm a great white shark, I shouldn't have any problem of floating in the mini pool.

Mascot: I understand what you’re saying, Völken, but remember the little agreement we had, when you ask me to help you learn how to swim.

Völken Hai Fin: sigh, I know, I know. Safety first before anything else. But can I at least have some much cooler colors then yellow, these make me feel like a duck.

Mascot: *she laugh* you don't look like a duck, Völken. Now stop worrying so much, and let us start your lesson. The longer we stay talking, the sooner someone would try to find us.

Völken: how, it a Sunday afternoon, and most people are at home. Who would be out here searching?

Before she could finish her sentence, they heard a familiar voice, which happen to sound like Völken twin brother, Välken. Mascot, and Völken surprised that he was nearby, must be looking for his twin sister. Völken was acting nervous, not sure what she need to do. Mascot look at the distance and saw Välken was walking around the corner, reaching for her backyard. Völken try to find a way to hide, but need to think fast. She look at the mini pool, and had no choice to hide there. Völken removed her water rings, and jump inside the mini pool. Mascot saw what, Völken was doing, and trying her best to get her out before she drowned. Before she get close to the pool, Mascot stood still in place, when Välken called her name.

Välken Hai Fin: good afternoon, Ms. Writer.

Mascot: Valo! And good afternoon to you too. I'm surprised to see you here, on a Sunday afternoon, but not at your shop.

Välken Hai Fin: well there are times I step out from the shop, Ms. Writer. Is everything alright?

Mascot: everything is fine, Valo. What make you thing is something wrong?

Välken Hai Fin: don't know, your acting like your hiding something, but not doing a good job with it.

Mascot: *she look at the mini pool by the side of her eye, making sure that Völken is doing alright. Also doing her best not showing anything wrong* Come now Valo, you know I'm not that type of girl hide anything from you.

Välken Hai Fin: really! Then how about tell me why you’re doing then.

Mascot: .... um, I would tell you, but you have to tell me why your here first.

Välken Hai Fin: I stop by to see if my sister was with you. Völken was meant to help me move some boxes that need to go into storage, and as perusal, my sister is ditching work again.

Mascot: why your sister ditching work for, I thought she said that you two were off on Sunday.

Välken Hai Fin: we are, but since we work inside dealing with costumers and orders all the time, we barely get the chance to do any of minor stuff like stocking, or making sure the orders are done right.

Mascot: I see and I'm guessing you stop by here to see if she was here.

Välken Hai Fin: yes, but it look like she not here. I guess I have to search somewhere else that she occasionally hangout at. Before I go, how about telling me why you hanging out at the mini pool, while still wearing your outfit.

Mascot figure that he was going to ask him that, but had no clue what to say. It took her a minute, and came up a sneaky idea.

Mascot: actually, Valo the reason why I'm here is that I was waiting for you.

Välken Hai Fin: *he blush* you were?

Mascot: that right, Valo Kun. You’re the only person that I been wanting to ask you something important.

Välken Hai Fin: *he blush even* oh! What exactly you wanted to tell me then?

Mascot: simple silly, all you have to do is keep your eyes close and listen for a magic words.

Välken was already excited, and did what Mascot ask him to do. He kept his eyes closed, thinking he might get a kiss he always been dreaming about. Mascot saw that, Välken kept his eyes closed, this was the opportunity, and calmed out her pet Coco.

Mascot: Coco, can you come *she stop half way when Coco appeared out of nowhere* whoa, where the heck you came from.

Coco: Coco was busy watching, and

Mascot: stop, don't finish that last line. Look, can you do me a favor, and let Valo take you out for a walk.

Coco: but Coco like going on walk with you, or Magenta.

Mascot: would you do it for a fish?

Coco: Coco want two salmon

Mascot: can you have the average fish?

Mascot: two salmon, or I'll tell Valo where his sister is.

Mascot: .... you little sneak. I bet you pick that up from, Starbite didn't you

Coco: *she smile*

Mascot: fine, two salmon.

Coco: *she smile that she getting fish. She walk passed, Valo and grab him by the tail* Come along, Valo. Coco want to go on walk.

Välken Hai Fin: wait, what! I didn't agreed on that.

Mascot: actually you did, after you said that you was cool with it.

Välken Hai Fin: hold on a second, I didn't really agree with that. I thought I was getting.... maybe a kiss.

Coco: if you want kiss, Coco know good spot for kissy, Kissy.

Välken eyes were widen, after knowing what she meant. He tried his best to grab the grass, but seeing Coco was a jungle Rabbit, she was strong enough to grab him, which they disappeared from the yard. Mascot waved goodbye to them, part of her felt bad to trick him like that, but she did promise to Völken that she wanted to keep it a secret. Speaking of which, Mascot just remember that she need to check up on her friend. She looked at the mini pool, and saw something floating in the pool. Mascot was shock to see, Völken and she wasn't moving. Mascot did her best to pull her out, but once she pull her out, instead of the body of a great white shark, she pull an overweight, Zita Lizard. After pulling the Zita lizard out from the mini pool, Mascot lay Völken on the ground, and check up on her to see if she was breathing. She check her pulses, and was able to find a heartbeat. Mascot was relief that, Völken was alright, just only knock out from being underwater for a long period of time. Mascot examine Völken Zita lizard form, she would have been surprised to see her like this, but Mascot did remember seeing her in this form a few times in the past. Mascot never bother asking her about it, since Völken wanted to keep it a secret from her twin brother. Mascot knew that she need to bring her inside, or else someone would see her lizard form. Mascot knew that she had to carry, Völken on her own, which it going to be a major pain carrying an oversized lizard.

After several minutes of carrying a heavy luggage that made of scales, Mascot was to reach the back balcony of her apartment. Mascot was grateful that she still do the martial arts training with her mom, which made it a lot easier to carry Völken on her back. At first she look short from her usual height, but Zita Lizard have a heavy structure build that make them a lot heavier then they look. Mascot look at, Völken for a moment, and notice that she was still knock out from staying underwater too long. She sigh to herself knowing that, Völken still have a long way to go. Mascot head over to the living room area, and gently place Völken on the couch. Mascot figure that Völken be out for a little while, so she have some spare time for herself. Mascot try to think what she should do, until she lost a train of thought, after her stomach started to growl. She place her hand on her stomach, feeling growling very loudly. She know she had some breakfast earlier, before she went outside to teach Völken how to swim. Mascot mind was thinking about that the strange effects from the potion she drank last night might have something to do with it. Mascot remember that her grandmother, Isabella gave her another potion to try. She still felt weird when her entire body transformed into an owl, and almost became a complete different person. Mascot felt lucky that the potion wore off, and turned back to normal. Mascot grandmother said that each potion she is working on had some different kind of effects, some work faster, while other might take a while to kick in. The potion she drank last night should had kick in already, but nothing happened so far. Mascot felt growl again, but this time it telling her that she was hungry. Mascot head for the kitchen, and see what she can grab some sort of snack. She check inside the fridge to see anything good. After a quick look, Mascot started to sniff something in the air, a special aroma that was incredible. Mascot kept on snipping, trying to see where the smell was coming from. Mascot look at the lower section of the fridge, and found a block of Swiss cheese she brought a week ago. Mascot mouth started to drool, which making her craving for the Swiss cheese. She never was much a fan for any kind of cheese, but for some strange reason, she wanted to eat the cheese very badly. Mascot grab the cheese and close the fridge behind her. She place the cheese on the kitchen counter, then use a knife that was right next with it, and cute a nice big piece for herself. Once she done that, Mascot lift the piece of Swiss cheese by her nose, and take another whip of the smell. Mascot mind was drawn into the aroma of the cheese, she didn't bother to notice that something odd was happening to her. A few of her front teeth were merging together, and form into a buck teeth. The buck teeth was long enough, which can stick out from her lips. When she was done smelling the cheese, Mascot kept her eyes closed the whole time, and start taking a bite from the cheese, using her new buck teeth. While she was enjoying the taste of the cheese, Mascot ears started to grew, growing the right proper size of two mouse ears. Mascot entire snouts started to move, shrinking and narrowing itself, to the proper shape. After that, small strain of hair poke out from, Mascot scales, taking it place as her natural fur coat. Soon you know it, Mascot face went from a hybrid alligator/dragon to a mouse. Mascot made a big sigh noise, liking the cheese that she eaten, but without warning magic mist appearing out from her mouth, trying to spread out towards her body. Mascot was about to take another bite of the Swiss cheese, but caught of surprised that she had a mouse nose. Not only she saw a mouse nose, but she felt her entire face had fur. While examining her face, Mascot look at her body, and see the mist was doing something to her. She was about to do something, but feel like she can't move her body. Mascot look at her hands, and saw them getting smaller. She seen them shrinking through her sleeves like they disappear. Next she felt her body was going through the same progress like her hand, and there was no way for her to stop it. Mascot can see her entire room was getting bigger, which telling her she was shrinking by the second. Mascot tried to scream for help, but all she can do was burp out the gas mist and disappear inside her clothes.



After the mist was gone, all there was left of Mascot was her steampunk clothing. At first she seem to be gone for good, but something started to move inside her clothing. The little figure kept on moving, until it find an opening from the collar area. The little figure was a small female mouse, which happen to be, Mascot. She took a few to see where she was, even hoping find someone to help her. Mascot walk around the mountain of clothing, and she found her pink glasses. She look at the reflection, and see a mouse in front of her. Mascot scream a little, that she was actually the small mouse. Mascot look at herself that she was bare naked, and have nothing on. She ran towards her clothing, and grab the sleeves to cover herself. Mascot felt really embarrassed being this small. She know her grandmother said that the potion will take a while to take effect, but never would expected to make a major effect on her body. Mascot trying to figure out what to do, but before she could think further, Mascot nose started smelling something yummy. She look where the smell coming from, and saw a block of Swiss cheese that she drop on the floor. Mascot mouth was drooling, seeing the cheese in front of her. At first she tried to fight the urges, but the mouse inside of her was too strong, and had to go get some. Mascot reach the block of Swiss cheese, which was a lot bigger than she is. She grab a piece of it, and start chewing on it. Mascot was enjoying the cheese very much, but not knowing something sinister was happening. A few feet from where she is. A large Zita lizard emerge from the scene, starring at the small mouse. Völken finally woken up from her little coma, but her belly woken her up, begging something to eat. In her Zita Lizard form she can't normal food like everyone else, unless it was small creatures like bugs, or rodents. Lucky for her, she spotted a yummy mouse to eat. Völken walk slowly to get close to her target, without the mouse knowing she was there. Before she made another step, she saw the mouse was about to turn her head, and see what going on. Völken remember in her form she can turned invisible. She concentrated a little, and finally made her body invisible. The little mouse Mascot was looking her surrounding, to see if something was up. Part of her know that something isn't right, and she need to get away, but her mouse side wanted her to continue eating the Swiss cheese. Mascot had the chance to eat more cheese, but stop herself when she see her whiskers were moving on her own. Mascot saw her whiskers moving back and forth, like the wind was passing by. Mascot knew that the blow one direction, which mean someone was right behind. She looked at the direction the breathing was coming from, but all she saw was nothing. Mascot narrow her eyes a bit and see something that was out of the ordinary. She see two beating eyes were staring straight at her, eyes of a predator looking at their prey. Mascot also saw a mouth broken a smile, showing off their sharp teeth. Mascot knee that something was off, and she had to run for it. Völken saw the mouse trying to escape, she removed her camouflage, and gone after her prey. Mascot run as fast she can, but since she is the size of a mouse, it was going to be hard to escape from the giant Lizard. Völken was catching up the little mouse, but shock to see it run very quickly. She tried to grab the mouse with her hand, but slip a few times. At first she saw the corner itself by the kitchen cabinets, figure it was going to be an easy catch. But soon you know it, the mouse dodge her by slipping away, making Völken crash into the cabinet, and gotten hit a few times on the head with pot, and pans.


Mouse Mascot chuckle to herself that she was able to trick the large lizard, but all laughter cut short, when Völken finally got up, and chase after her again. Mouse Mascot race towards one of the cabinet, and grab a string that look like a rope. She climbed up the rope, and finally reach the top counter. Mouse Mascot rest for a moment, trying to catch her breath from all the running she had done. She know the kitchen a little big, but being the size of a mouse, she done a big marathon. While she was catching, Mascot didn't pay much attention when something was coming behind. She tried her best to see what going on, but Mouse Mascot was caught off guard by being tie up by a tail. Mouse Mascot look to see where the tail was coming from, and it belong to Zita Lizard Völken. Völken grinned at the little mouse, knowing that she going to enjoy to eat her. Mouse Mascot try to talk to her, letting her know that she was Mascot. No Matt how much she scream, her voice was so small, all she could make are Squeaks noises. Völken was laughing to herself, liking how her snacks begging for their lives. Just when she lift her tail up, and ready to eat her meal, a strange blue mist engulf the mouse Mascot. Völken wasn't sure what going on, thinking the mouse is doing some kind of trick. She try to see what going on, but before she could make any movement, Völken felt her tail getting heavy, like she was holding something too big. The mist finally cleared up, and show a naked hybrid alligator/dragon turned back to normal. Völken was shock to see, Mascot and part of her mind was double shock that she was the mouse the whole time. Völken gently lower her tail down, and let Mascot sit on the kitchen counter.

Mascot: phew, thanks for putting me down, Völken. That sure was a close one.

Völken Hai Fin: I'll say, if you haven't changed back to your normal self, you would have been inside my belly, like most the mouse I have eaten before.

Mascot: speaking of that, why you eat live mouse like that. I thought you would eat normal food like sandwiches, and stuff

Völken Hai Fin: not exactly, Zita lizard have a very specific food habit, which sort of different from what we eat. Sure in my shark form I can eat whatever I like, but in the Zita lizard form I have to eat living small creatures like rats, or bugs. Whenever we have a rat problem at the shop, I usually take care of it.

Mascot: that would make since. Your shop always have rodents free, no matter what season it is.

Völken Hai Fin: yup, I keep the shop clean *she place her hand rubbing her big belly* and free snacks I could eat. So what about you, how the heck you became a mouse.

Mascot: it my grandmother potion that sort of change me into a mouse. I promise her that I would help her out trying out some potion, and see the effect works. So far this is the second potion I tried, and it work really well.

Völken Hai Fin: it sure did, but you might want to put some clothes on, especially since you’re completely naked.

Mascot: *she look at herself and finally realize that she had no clothes on. She want to cover herself, but didn't mind it* oh well, it just you and me. It not like your brother isn't here to see us.

Völken Hai Fin: speaking of my brother, where did he go anyway. The last time we saw him, which he was speaking with you.

Mascot: I think I had him take, Coco for a walk.

Völken Hai Fin: wait, you let Valo take Coco for a walk. Are you sure that was a good idea, you know Coco have some personal affection towards my twin brother.

Mascot: I know, but don't worry too much about Valo. Coco in her best behavior. Infarct, they might be somewhere in the middle of the forest, playing a good game of hide and seek.

Somewhere in the deepest part of the woods, Välken was running through the forest, getting away from Coco. Välken learned about the jungle rabbits from his research book, knowing that they get a little horny, whenever they lure their favorite prey. Välken stop running for a moment, trying to catch his breath. While he was resting, Välken can hear Coco giggling to herself, warning Välken that she was getting closer. Välken knew he have to hide somewhere, since he can't keep on running forever. He head over to a large bush, and hid inside of it. Välken was relief that he found a good hiding spot, which Coco can't find him.

Välken Hai Fin: thanks goodness I found a good hiding place. I know I promise, Mascot I walk Coco for her, but I can't believe how crazy she can be. At least for now I can hide her for a short while.

Coco: you have to admit that you found good hiding place.

Välken Hai Fin: yeah, there is no way that, Coco can *before he could finish his sentence, he look by his side, and saw Coco smiling at him* mercy

Coco: Coco don't know mercy
