CW - self harm
Yeah all of the scar-like markings she has are based on IRL scars I have. I suffered from severe depression in high school and was a victim of a lot of aggressive self harm for several years. I'm now on mood stabilizers and I don't succumb to self harm nearly as often anymore but because of the severity and me never getting stitches for them, I'll probably always have the scars.
People look at me in the summer when I wear shorts and t shirts bc even though theyre healed, they're still very visible. I don't mind as much. I just hope I don't offend anyone. I also would never seek to get rid of the scars since they're a huge part of why I am who I am today. They're the writings of my story so-to-speak 'v'

I honestly kind of had a feeling, but didn't want to just assume. I thought it better to ask. They make for pretty moo markings though, and as you said, they're apart of who and why you are the person that you are today! I know the ins and outs of self harm too, especially during the high school years. But! I love how you incorporated negative aspects of your life into positive imagery! Good on you for not holding that phase of your life against yourself either. :)
oh yeah for sure! I totally understand how they're perceived by people who haven't been through my life but honestly, I celebrate my scars. They're like a trophy of me having gone through something very traumatic but surviving. I definitely love my scars and my mate also loves them (because they're part of me, not some weird scar fetish lmao) so his influence on top of my own positivity has really made something wonderful from something that /could/ have been negative. He's been a huge blessing on my life <3
