I think I said that around Canadian Thanksgiving we adopted three wonderful hooded agouti rat sisters? Well, here they are, taken tonight while they were exploring under the comforter and I was cleaning up their cage.
From left to right, Trixie, Daisy and Laverne. Trixie is kind of chubby and lazy and is the only one who gets along with the cats, Laverne is a bit asocial with humans, and Daisy (who I spoil unmercifully) mothers the other two. Yes, they could use baths, but they really aren't as grubby as the flash makes them look.

I've never heard them called that; perhaps it's a regional term. We call them Agouti Hooded around here, a very common variety.
I just told them they had a new fan but they were busy snacking on their evening blueberry yogurt drops and may not have been paying attention.

I've been looking and can't find a reference to it. Can you point mr at a description, if you have one to hand? No worries if not, I've just been finding the fancy endlessly fascinating and the endless variations in what are the descendants of just ONE variety amazes me.
