It her, it the girl, lil Cricket. She is asexual/aromantic but the main point is she is also trans, born without physical sex but identifying as female.
She actually doesn't have any issues with her body, she doesn't feel like she is lacking anything by not having a biological gender, but her identity as female is still important to her. It's all because of her mother Malva, young Cricket became very attached to the idea of being Malva's daughter after learning that she had a daughter before. Although Malva made it clear Cricket can choose what gender/pronouns she prefers and doesn't necessarily need to be a "daughter", the young vessel's mind was already set. Malva really changed her life, showing her love and support and helping her grow into the person she wanted to be, giving her the chance to be herself and to exist. So she chooses to identify as female because she associates so much positivity to it. She will proudly always be Malva's daughter.
